Course Content: First Aid Basics: Key aims of first aid: preserving life, preventing further harm, and promoting recovery The importance of scene safety and assessing casualties ABC of First Aid: Airway, Breathing, Circulation Managing unconscious casualties and the recovery position Handling seizures, wounds, and bleeding Anaphylaxis Recognition and Management: Identifying signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis Administering an adrenaline auto-injector (EpiPen) Understanding the causes and triggers of allergic reactions Emergency response to severe allergic reactions and biphasic anaphylaxis Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR): Recognizing cardiac arrest and the importance of early intervention Performing high-quality chest compressions and rescue breaths Compression-only CPR and infection control during CPR (including COVID-19 considerations) Correct use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) Infection Control and Safety: Minimizing risks of cross-infection while providing first aid Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Who Should Enrol: This course is ideal for individuals in any workplace or community setting, including beauty and aesthetic practitioners, educators, parents, and anyone looking to gain life-saving skills.
